VIDEO EDITING GUIDE / NOVSYMEDIA

How to choose video editing
that's right for you.

You have the footage or the idea. The next step is finding someone who can turn it into a clear message. This guide helps you compare offers for Reels, TikTok, Shorts and e-commerce ads, starting with what you actually need.

01 / BEFORE YOU CHOOSE

Five things to check.

01

Examples relevant to your project.

Look for videos similar to the content you need. A product presentation and a talking-head video have different requirements. Look at the clarity of the message, captions and pacing, not just the effects.

02

What's included in the service.

Do you only need editing, or scripts, hooks and voice-over too? Agree upfront on who prepares the materials and how many variations you'll receive.

03

A price tied to deliverables.

Compare quotes for the same volume and complexity. Check the number of videos, length, formats and included variations. A price per video means little without these details.

04

Clear schedules and revisions.

Ask when you'll receive the first draft, how to send feedback and which changes are included. The deadline should reflect the available materials and project scope.

05

A collaboration that's easy to follow.

Agree on where to send your materials and receive the finished videos. An organised folder and feedback gathered in one message can make working together much simpler.

02 / WHAT KIND OF HELP DO YOU NEED?

Three ways to work.

These are starting points for discussion. Check each provider's services, availability and pricing individually.

INDEPENDENT EDITOR

A direct collaboration.

May suit a well-defined project or a particular style. Check their portfolio, availability and whether they can handle the volume you need.

Ask: who prepares the script and what's included in editing?

PRODUCTION TEAM

From filming to delivery.

An option to explore when you also need filming, equipment or production planning. Ask for a quote that separates filming from editing and other services.

Ask: what are the deliverables and the full schedule?

SHORT-FORM SPECIALIST TEAM

Content for social media.

An option to explore for short videos, regular posts and creative ad variations. Check their experience with the formats you need.

Ask: can you prepare hooks and variations for testing?

03 / WHERE WE FIT IN

Short-form editing.
E-commerce ads.

At NovsyMedia, we work with your footage for social content and build product ads: script iterations, hooks, AI voice-over, selected or AI-generated footage, editing and adjustments within the agreed direction.

Standard

450 RON / 10 videos

45 RON / video · editing

Pro

800 RON / 20 videos

40 RON / video · editing + copywriting

Premium

1,050 RON / 30 videos

35 RON / video · consistent content

These packages cover short-form editing. E-commerce ads are quoted privately, based on your product, available materials and required variations.

For editing, average delivery is around 48 hours per video after receiving materials and agreeing on the direction. Package schedules and revisions are discussed before the project starts.

PRACTICAL / BEFORE THE EDIT

Better materials.
An easier start.

01

Film for the final format.

For a vertical video, frame your shots vertically. Leave a little space around the subject, avoid cutting off hands or the product, and allow room for captions. If you need other formats too, tell us before filming.

02

Prioritise voice and lighting.

Choose a quiet spot with light coming from in front of you. Record a short test and listen back before filming everything. Distorted sound or words drowned out by noise can limit what editing can recover.

03

Send supporting footage too.

Alongside your talking-head video, film the product in use, details, packaging and the context it's used in. Keep each shot steady for a few seconds to leave room for editing.

04

Keep the original files.

Upload originals to the project folder. Group materials by product or topic and add your logo, brand colours and style references. Flag must-use footage and versions you don't want us to use.

A BRIEF THAT HELPS

You don't need ten pages.

A good message tells us who we're addressing, what viewers should remember and what action we want them to take. The example below is illustrative, not a real project or result.

Example: an ad for an insulated travel mug

Product and audience
An insulated travel mug for people who commute to the office every day.
Main message
I want to show how they use it on the way to work. We'll take technical benefits from the product specifications.
Available materials
Footage of the product in use, photos, a logo and the product page link.
Style and variations
A direct tone, AI voice-over and two different openings to test.
Action and deadline
Visit the product page. I need the first draft by the date we agree on together.

For straightforward editing, replace the product with the topic of your video and tell us what you'd like kept or removed from the footage.

WHEN YOU RECEIVE THE FIRST DRAFT

What to check.

Is the message clear?

Is it clear what the video is about from the start? Is there one main idea? Is the product or subject easy to recognise? Effects should support the message.

Are the text and voice correct?

Check names, spelling, prices, the offer and voice-over pronunciation. Captions should be readable on a phone without hiding important details.

Does the ending tell viewers what's next?

The call to action might be visiting the product page, requesting a quote or following the account. Choose it based on your goal and make sure it matches the offer.

Feedback that leads to a clear change

Instead of “I don't like the opening”, try: “At 00:02, I'd start with the product in use. At 00:08, keep the text on screen longer. At the end, change the call to action to ‘View product’.”

Gather your comments in one message and separate necessary corrections from style preferences. If several people approve the video, send one agreed list.

FOR E-COMMERCE ADS

One final version.
More to learn.

A finished edit doesn't mean we already know how the ad will perform. You can test hook or message variations, with goals and testing conditions agreed with the person managing your campaigns.

To understand what made the difference, avoid changing everything at once. For example, compare two openings with the same ad body. Interpreting the results also involves the audience, offer, budget and product page.

We prepare the creative materials and agreed variations. Campaign management and advertising spend are separate from the video creation service.

04 / FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

More clarity before we start.

Do I need a script or just editing?

If you already have the message and footage, editing may be enough. If you're still unsure how to open or what to say, we can discuss the script too. At NovsyMedia, Pro and Premium include copywriting; for ads, the quote defines the direction and variations.

How much does editing a video cost?

NovsyMedia packages work out at 45, 40 or 35 RON per video, depending on the package. For other volumes and e-commerce ads, you'll receive a custom quote privately.

How do I send materials and receive the videos?

We prepare a Google Drive folder for your raw footage, and edited videos go into a separate subfolder of the same project. If you prefer WeTransfer or SwissTransfer, we receive and deliver through the same service, with a new link for the edited versions.

What changes can I request?

Reasonable revisions within the agreed direction are included. A new concept or additional deliverables are discussed separately before work begins.

Does a well-edited ad guarantee sales?

No. The message and edit are only part of the result. The product, offer, sales page, audience and distribution matter too. Creative variations can be tested, without promises of guaranteed ROAS, CPA or virality.
